Serenastra Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Hiya I contacted RM today, as I have finally got round to sorting out the logins for the standalone laptops that were assigned to teachers. We have a CC4 server and I would like to integrate the logins on the laptops with those on the network, mainly so that network drive mappings are mapped using their network credentials (and when the network password changes their drive mappings don't fail), but also so that they have a single login to use for both their laptops and the CC4 machines. RM pointed me to RM Connector, which seems to do some of what I want, in that the teachers will be able to access network resources using their CC4 login, but i) it's expensive and ii) it doesn't solve the single login problem as far as I can tell. Any advice on alternative ways to make this happen which might cost less and provide a single login? Or is the only way to install CC4 on the laptops, which we definitely can't afford? Many thanks
Edu-IT Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Could you not use a script to map the drives at logon?
Serenastra Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Hmm, thanks, yes I could... I have never done this, as CC4 does it all for me for the networked PCs. I *think* I know how to create one, but as they don't log into a domain they'd have to be local. Is it possible to create one for Windows 7 Home, Vista and XP? (Yes we have a nasty mix of OS.)
