Office 365 or Google Apps for Education Demo Request

Hi,

 

Just wondering if anyone has a fully working setup of either Google Apps or Office 365 for Education that a couple of us could come and see? Preferably within the South West as I'm sure budgets won't stretch too far for travel!

 

Basically we are interested in going with one of them but not suer which one yet. We would like to use email, celendars, online storage and web apps for word processing etc. Then moving into shared documents, desktop apps for syncing and when they have finished developing Frog VLE integration..

 

Our experience so far is that Google Apps for Education seems rather basic (maybe because we are on the standard edition awaiting approval?), not allowing Admins to see all online files etc. However it seems a lot easier to setup. As for Office 365 for Education, it's a nightmare! Can't quite work out how to setup individual files areas for students as well as team sites. And trying to get access to the Web Apps to create documents seems missing too.

 

Thinking for now it will be easier to see them both running in a live environment.

I think your being a little ambitious for what you want, we use them for hosted email primarily.

 

Anything else is a bonus really.

"Cloud" is currently the word within our SLT. We already host internal Exchange 2010 email services that are fully accessible from outside. However SLT want to move forward in providing online file storage linked into web apps. We currently have Frog VLE and they already have basic integration with Google Apps and it is only going to grow in the next year. Eventually they will be able to log into the VLE access their files and edit direct through the web apps. They are working on Office 365 integration as well. They are also *very* keen on getting more than one student working on the same file at the same time.
