Vague ballpark Licensing cost? 1x2k8r2 server 60xwin7 + Office?

Hi - seem to be getting the runaround from a few resellers out there.

Just need a vague idea of how much it'd cost for a single site with 2008 server, and 60 win 7 clients with Office.

Anyone got any idea? Or even any idea where I'd go to get that info? It's my first step into licensing and to be honest it's making my head spin...

Off the top of my head, Windows is about £30 per license outright and Office £35. We use EES now though as it's more cost effective, about £38 per full-time staff member - with the timing, it saved us buying all new Office 2010 and Windows 7 licences outright, which would have cost the same as 6 years of EES and not included fun things like Home Use and the anti-virus. Worth looking into.

Server 2008R2 isn't a great deal but can't remember that one, and Pugh don't list the price in their catalogue, but it should be south of £100 iirc.

Home Use, not Hume Use. Who'd want to use Chris Hume? Filthy lying political type, bleurch.

Depends on if you're in an educational establishment or not as well?

Ben

Hi Ben! Yes good point, forgot to mention that.

This is for a project outside work infact. And NOW it's changed to 2x server 2008r2 licenses and 50x clients with Win7 32bit and Office.

Anyone know where I might get a quote for that? All the sites with resellers and live chat don't seem to do much...

Try CAE Systems (Home | CAE - Technology Together), they do all my licensing for me, they deal with corporate mainly but have got into education in the last year. I deal with a guy called Christian Mahvi. Should be able to do something competitive for you.

I have no connection with CAE except they are one of our suppliers.

@hit - I use Christian at CAE too. He's a thoroughly helpful chap, and very decent to deal with.

Shhh, don't let him know that, he might ramp the prices up if he thinks we like him ;)
