[ms office - 2007] Excel - Copy/Paste Columns

Hi all,

 

I keep being given a bunch of these Emark book things to convert from 'sets' to 'classes' since the teachers can't do it themselves. They're basically like APP grids.

 

Anyway, all I need to do is copy and paste columns from one excel file to another. However, not in the same order. For example: The data for Column F and Column K in the original file needs to go in Column D and Column P. All I keep getting when I try to c/p that is "the command you choose cannot be performed with multiple selections" - this is proving to be a HUGE annoyance as it means I'm having to copy ony column at a time, which ends up taking a lot more time.

 

Anybody care to give me some workarounds on how I can make this quicker?

You can copy both across, but because the gap is bigger in the new file it won't put them where you want them.

Ah bogger. Fair enough, thanks! If they didn't protect the sheet and lose the password I'd have tried hiding the unwanted columns /slitwrists

Couldn't you just copy them across and insert the missing columns?
