rjaeger Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Are CCNA boot camp training courses like this Cisco CCNA Training UK - Hands on Cisco CCNA Training Weekend Boot Camp worth it? With ccna, some training courses seem to last weeks and cost £2k then you see these. I have no problem taking in information, but there seems an awful lot to learn in 2 days or a week! Thanks
Steve21 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 No point at all... You can become a Cisco engineer by following these three proven steps - guaranteed: Pre-read the course materials (10-20 hours) Come on the CCNA weekend boot camp Pass the exam Also known as: If you already know the information, we'll give you tips how to pass, and you can pay us lots of money for it! adhutton Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I've just done the CCNA course over a year at a local college - one night a week for 3 hours + home reading/practice. There is a VAST amount of information to remember/understand!!! I wouldn't waste your money on a boot camp. I cannot see how anyone could absorb all of that in a weekend/week - impossible in my opinion! My advice would be to buy the books, read them and start doing the labs/tests. Then spend a few quid and get something like the Testking series and start doing those. You can do most of the 'practical' stuff using the Packet Tracer software and if you are able to get any 'hands-on' with some Cisco switches/routers that would also help (I even considered buying a couple of secondhand Cisco switches/routers off eBay to practice on, but didn't in the end). rjaeger Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 Yeah thanks! been reading my ccna study guide by lammle and doing some packet labs, with the money i saved might get a lab off ebay! Going to give it at least one month and see where I stand with my progress before i think about booking any exam dates.
