WithoutMotive Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Hi guys, We deploy printers using Group Policy Printing Preferences and it works really well... apart from a couple of things. We have a two-way trust between networks (which also tends to work really well). Two of the printers in GPPP are on the other network. According to Group Policy Results, these printers are not being applied due to error: 0x8007078f I'm assuming this is a permissions problem, however I'm not sure how as the users have access to other areas on the other network. Can anyone shed light? Thanks,
ZeroHour Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Can a *normal* user map the printer without issue? Are you running those printers in the user context (checkbox that is off by default if I recall) or system context?
sparkeh Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Hmm I believe that is a fairly generic error code meaning that the authentication failed. You might want to try running it in the logged in user's security context (an option on the common tab of the printer definition in the GPP). 1
WithoutMotive Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Just tried that on a test account and it worked! Waiting for info from staff about it so hopefully all is good. Thanks guys.
