featured_spectre Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I can't recommend this place enough! It is a great place to work...and the ambulance in the building just tops it off!
umairadmin Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I can't recommend this place enough! It is a great place to work...and the ambulance in the building just tops it off! Is there any particular reason for not recommending this place. I mean why did you make this comment that "I can't recommend this place enough!"
elsiegee40 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Is there any particular reason for not recommending this place. I mean why did you make this comment that "I can't recommend this place enough!" Lost in translation. Nephilim means he likes it a lot!
featured_spectre Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Indeed...I highly recommend the place...great staff, great team to work with...and cool gadgets
IanT Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 The best part of it of course is working with me!
fiza Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Ian, is this the one I went for last year??? I take it you didnt get/want the job last year then?
lazkopat Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) The only disadvantage I think is the location if you travel by train. Apart from that its an excellent place Dulwich. I've worked in a high school in Dulwich and found it difficult to get there by train but by car should not be a problem at all. Edited October 22, 2012 by lazkopat
featured_spectre Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I take it you didnt get/want the job last year then? Due to personal reasons I had to decline going further with the application, however if I could have, I certainly would have.
suj_2000 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 This might be a silly question but has this position been filled? If not, would this role be suited for someone who's thinking of changing career?
featured_spectre Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I would say it is a role for someone that is well versed and experienced with IT. Reason being, a lot of equipment, and whilst very organised, it is a lot for an inexperienced person to take on. It took me the better part of the day just for the tour of the equipment used!
suj_2000 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks dude - Makes sense. I assume having completed the following two exams (Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment) & (Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional) wouldn't help either as I dont have the relevant experience? What would you suggest/recommend I focus on to get into IT?
featured_spectre Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Personally I say start as a technician on a volunteer basis, or go in as a junior tech to build up skills, you can go around your schedule, ask to learn more from them. Build up your experience and go up from there. We all start somewhere. 1
suj_2000 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks for the advice - I'll put a post out to see if anyone is intersted in hiring a free technician over the weekends or late evening :-)
