256GB Crucial SSD £99.95 (SATA-II)

Look at the specs though, not exactly cutting edge.

How small are those IOPS values??!!

It's not top of the range, but 256GB for just under £100 it's not going to be... it's hard to compare the IOPS figures to be honest, most manufacturers seem to only give one IOPS measure, not separate read and write, so how do you compare that? 10K is good, 5K not so good, but who knows what most drives are? Also you have to bear in mind this is a SATA-II drive. I think taking all that in to consideration, it's a bargain upgrade for those who don't have an SSD yet or want a second one for additional storage. It'll still blow the socks off any HDD.

For £15 more, you can now get the significantly faster 256GB Samsung 830!

Showing up as £147.19 here... still a pretty good deal mind you, but a tad more than £15 more expensive

It seems the SSD was only available for that price until 9.20 a.m. Thanks to HUKD it sold out extremely quickly. :(

I did manage to get two for myself however. :)

The SanDisk Extreme SSDs are good, but they still haven't released a firmware update to fix the TRIM issue (as Corsair and Kingston have done). :(

go to amazon uk click todays deals and its listed there for 116.99 with 67% claimed. i don't think you can view the discount direct on the description page of the hard drive.
