PAT Testing and Fuses

We have a load of HP laptops which have 65w power supplies, and desktops with 135w power supplies. They have all been supplied with 5 amp fuses.

 

Acording to our Health and Safety office and the guidance from our Local Authority, all these fuses need to be replaced with 3 amp ones.

 

Is anyone else in this siutation? And why would HP and other manufacturers supply them with the 'wrong' fuses in?

Just a note it is guidance and not a rule as such, there is nothing really "wrong" with them.

Technically a 1amp would do.
