Windows 7 taskbar hides bottom of window

Hi we have a random problem with windows taskbar overlapping the bottom of windows when fully extended. I don't want to set the task bar to auto hide as some of the kids with struggle so it must remain in the fixed position. I've had a look on the net for a solution. Some people have suggested auto hide, move task bar to the top or left side or even press F11. None of these soloutions are acceptable.

 

Has anyone come across this issue?

What applications and what GPU drivers, sometimes the DWM seems to stuff up like this fro time to tie with problematic GPUs

so far its Office 2010 and IE thats been reported to be the issue. on board Intel G41 Express Chipset Driver version 8.15.10.1883
