techie211 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) hey ppl, I've created the new student accounts for the new year. All is well except when they try to logon to a wireless laptop. Anything wired, thin client, lab towers work just fine. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any help is appreciated. NOTE: getting.."The user name or password is incorrect". <-- but it's not. accounts work otherwise. -J Edited September 14, 2012 by techie211
ihaveaproblem Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 are the laptops joined to the domain ?
witch Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 what if you wire in a laptop - what then? That'll tell you if it is something to do with the laptop or not
NetmanDH Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Sounds to me that the laptop can't confirm the account with the AD - it's a new account, so hasn't cached it yet. Rather than a useful, "I can't talk to the AD so please try something else", it just says "username or password incorrect". Make sure the laptop can speak to the domain!
techie211 Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) yes the laptops are joined to the domain if the laptop is wired the student account works. Edited September 17, 2012 by techie211
BJG Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) (So apart from the new students, other student accounts definitely work and are seeing network folders, Internet etc...? Can the new students log in on a given laptop wirelessly after they've logged in with a wired connection...?) Edited September 17, 2012 by BJG
