Hi

I'm having problems with allocating full 6 lessons to all subjects. I've told the teachers affected that they should be able to find the extra lessons after the students have been given their individual timetable. The teachers then can allocate the extra lesson/s where they find a gap on the students' timetable. This has worked for some subjects but not all.

I've tried rescheduling couple of times but even then, the problems persists with some subjects.

My explanation to the teachers is that some of them are teaching across KS3,4 and 5 and therefore its difficult to find enough lessons for them all Key stages. Am I right?

Can i do anything to over come the problem?

It's really a timetabling problem, and hoping that teachers can find gaps wont work. You may have to re-organise the main timetable, in order for options to fit in. Sometimes, you have to not run an optional course if it's not viable.
