Popular Post Sivadam Posted September 9, 2012 Popular Post Posted September 9, 2012 I just thought that Edugeek Users would like to know that Sivadam retired as from last Friday, 7th September. After 44 Years working in schools (including 29 as a Teacher and 15 as a member of the Support Staff as well as over 30 as Timetabler!) I think it was about time to call it a day, especially as I turned 65 last January! I have one major regret in leaving at this time! I managed to collect a number of those infernal Green Squares instead of those lovely Red ones that I like so much. (Never let it be said that Mike Davis was not a helpful soul when he wanted to be! ) Ah well! I will still be keeping a watching brief on these forums so, who knows, I may be able to redress the balance at some later date! Thanks to all those many users on Edugeek who have supported my stance over the past few years and I hope you all prosper in the future, SIMS users or not! 9
kmount Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Good luck in your well earned retirement Sivadm. 1
synaesthesia Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Good luck in your future endeavours - I assume and hope such endeavours include lounging around with your feet up, ideally in a tropical setting 1
matt40k Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 All the best and many thanks for all the help you've give me and the rest of the community over the years. I'm not sure what Capita will do now, maybe we'll see a new number one MIS in the UK, now that it's no1 fan is leaving. Still, I'm sure you'll find it hard to stay away from a good Capita bashing session!!! We'll all miss you, even if some of us don't admit it!! It's a shame what happen but hopefully it won't be too bad in the end and at least you can enjoy retirement and practice your "I told you so" speech 1
GeeHubb Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Gosh. You never came over as the retiring type Mike! All the best for your retirement, though what we are going to do on Supportnet without you I don't know. Come to that, what are Capita going to do without you to test SIMS for them? 1

I very much appreciated the tips you gave us to enable us to get SOLUS3 running efficiently! I am sure that others will take up the cudgel if things start to get out of hand again! And I've used the 'I told you so!' speech far too much in the past! Edited September 9, 2012 by Sivadam

You could volunteer your services Gill! I bet they would welcome a Junior dataset to test on!

vikpaw Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Congratulations:clap2:, rest well. I'm sure SIMS will leave something of a hiatus in that brain. Will Capita be throwing you a party? It would be well deserved. I'm sure you'll soon be head-hunted by the Africans
GREED Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Congrats Mike, well earned I feel. Great chatting to you over the years, sometime on the same side, more often not, and that made it all the more useful (and entertaining!). Hope to see you here from time to time! Is the question not on everyone's lips: who will be the new SIMS fanboy/guru/evangelist? Should we hold and x-factor style comp? Mike would you be Simon Cowell?
vikpaw Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 vikpaw perhaps? I see that thou seeketh RED squares
tli Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I'm afraid that I can't comment on the relative merits of the SIMS and CMIS Retirement modules but good luck anyway!! Have fun!!
skunk Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 With whom shall I disagree with now........... Enjoy your retirement, you deserve it after all those years of having to use SIMS Thank you for your help, ideas and suggestions, especially on support net. Blades FTW!
