Error when managing Preferences in Workgroup Manager

Morning,

 

I have bound our Mac Server to AD and I'm trying to manage the preferences for users using Workgroup Manager..

 

But I keep getting this error (see pic) - it occurs when trying to manage users OR groups

 

Has anyone come across this error before?

You cannot add preferences to an AD group. You need to create a Open directory group and add the AD group to that OD group. Then you can edit the preferences for the OD group.

You need to change to LDAPV3 on the top left instead of Active Directory and then unlock the pad lock. I have a video on my blog for 10.6 which is close to 10.7 with workgroup manager. HowToMac.co.uk | Bringing the future of Apple into education

Do you know how to make the Documents folder redirect to their Home Directory? or is that impossible?
