cpjitservices Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) Hmmmm is it just me or what ? I have my printers deployed through GPO. The printers published to AD and everyone has the printer as their default..... However when I look at printers and Devices on the server I have a "redirected" printer there from one of the PC's in the main office - Printer sharing is not enabled on this printer. On the server this printer is also the default printer, changing that option and putting the printer on the server as default (the one I want to use) seems to work until I print from the Main Office PC then it goes back to default. There doesn't seem to be an issue with printing for anyone and it's just the one PC that seems to be redirecting the printer back to the server. I also get - "Printer cannot be removed - Access Denied" How weird... any one else experienced this ? - have I missed something ? Edited August 20, 2012 by cpjitservices
kearton Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 If you RDP onto a server you will see the printers from your workstation "redirected" on it. 1
andypitts Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Yes, as kearton said - you can stop the redirection if you want by unticking the Printers option on the Local Resources tab of RDP but they only exist for that RDP session so its nothing to worry about. 1
