Hi

For my home network, been running VMWare with Windows server 2008 on my Dell Optiplex 745. The Dell has died and so purchased a a new HP microserver. I have swapped HDDs but it hasn't recognised this - whats going on?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Drive Died ? Use something like GParted (Live CD) see if it is picked up by that (Partition software) also look in the BIOS see if the BIOS has recognised it - if the BIOS hasn't however then I'd check the drive is seated in the drive array properly - I also have a HP Micro-server and have not had a problem with drives so I'd suspect you have a dead drive.

As Plexer mentioned above, you are going to need to do more than just swapping the drives when going from an Intel-based PC to an AMD-based PC.
