Windows KMS Server Client Count With Mixed OS?

Hi,

 

We use KMS for a large amount of computers. It works really well. I am considering using Windows 8 on some 40" Tocuhscreens. The minimum client count for KMS activations is 30 clients. Now is that 30 Windows 7 clients and 30 Windows 8 clients or can it be a combination of 2 different os? Basically can i add the Windows 8 KMS key to my existing server and use the Windows 7 clients to count towards the 30 client limit? There will only be a small amount of Windows 8 machines.

I believe it's 25 of each os.

 

So at the moment a kms server might show 50 activations that would be 25 vista and 25 win7

This update should sort that out - An update is available for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 KMS hosts to support Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012

@localzuk you can apply a patch so 2008 R2 will do it.
