Guest Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Hi Guys/Gals just had a audit on our Disaster Recovery Plan document and it was heavly slated the systems in place are fine but our actual document is crap ( apparently ) so i guess im asking what you guys put in your disaster recovery plan, 1st issue we had was finding a hard copy priorties were not listed or agreed with the senior management team no risk accessment or testing were done.( though quite how you test a server room fire i dont know) also i was wondering if anyone had heard of recovery specialists who pop round with a van full of servers and you just give them your backup tapes. for an instant solution. Im getting ready for the major arse slapping i will be getting on Monday :violent3:
plexer Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Who audited it? What where their qualifications to slate it? Ben
mrforgetful Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 We don't have one. Something I'd sort if I was made Network Manager. Testing doesn't mean burning down the room, it means testing your backup to make sure you can recover it. You can have the best backup in the world, but if you don't know how to restore it, it's no good!

elsiegee40 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 SMT don't seem to think we need one. I have tried my best and pointed out that we are very vulnerable. If we lose our server (yes we only have one) , we're going to have to go out shopping and try to recover from the tape backup....
