On the subject of Harlequin Ladybirds if you have had a sighting you might like to have a look at this webpage:

Ah, that's what it is. I saw one the other day and my wife recognised it as:

"What the *#!@ is that? Quick, get a newspaper and kill it".

 

Seems quite a long name but that goes for much of latin animal and insect names.

Current protocol in keeping up with modern times means the correct way to dispose of these critters is by beating/flattening with an iPad.

 

But then what do I use for a doormat :)
