WDS problem-Local Admin Account always boots on deployed computers

Imaged pc's boot to a local admin account, then when they are added to a domain and a Network Admin account is added they always reboot and default to the local admin account again. This confuses the users who need to log on with domain credentials. Is this a common problem? Most computers deployed from this image work fine.

When you say "default to the local admin account again", do you mean the PCs are remembering the last-logged on user as the local admin?

If so, there's a GPO you can set: Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Interactive Logon - "Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name"

 

Or does it just try to log on to the local machine no matter what username you put in? If so, have you tried specifying the default logon domain in a GPO?

Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System\Logon - "Assign a default domain for logon"

No matter who the last log in was it defaults to the local admin when the computer restarts, which requires the user to log on to the domain with domain\username and password instead of just being able to enter their password. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it does confuse a lot of users. Thanks for the info!

If it keeps logging onto the local admin account after deploying an image with WDS it's quite likely your sysprep file has a number larger than 1 set for the admin account logon. If you don't want the admin account to log in you need to edit this.

Or if it's remembering the last logged in user do as Sidzilla says.
