RM CC3 Network - Help Required

I have recently joined a school in North London which is running RM CC3 Network and I do not know anything about RM CC3. I am really struggling with the imaging and software permissions for staff.

 

I was wondering if anyone in the area who is running RM CC3 network, can give me a quick tour on their site for a few hours.

Does the school not have a support contract with RM? Can you not call them directly for support and/or ask them to give you a quick walk through?

We do have support with RM but I want to see CC3 working elsewhere. They have provided us with few refrence manual. Currently we have about 8 to 10 new machines laying around , unable to image, driver issue etc.

 

What about RM CC3 course? Is that a good idea to go to?

I’m sure I got an email from RM saying they were dropping CC3 training. Looking over the site it does not appear as an option any more. The training was good if you want to get up to speed quickly. The technician training is just going through the manual with some practical exercises thrown in. Everything you need is in the manual. I think I can let you have a copy of it in PDF if you haven’t got the full thing.

 

With the driver problem, If you only have a small number of machines it may be quicker to install Windows on one, image it to the others via an external hard drive or other means and then put them on CC3 via Smartclient.

Smartclient is easy to use.

 

You need the computer to have just XP and drivers installed. The local administrator password as rm and the hard drive with a blank name.

 

Navigate to \\server\RMholding , open RM commissioning utilities in the utilities folder and run the msi.

Disconnect from the server and open the RM folder now on your hard drive. Run smartclient.bat in the install folder. The computer will reboot and open with a box to enter all your build details and that’s it.
