Network places on server 2k8

Ok, I think i've missed a step here...or the step no longer exists in 2008.

 

In 2003 you could see what computers were on as such by looking in Network Places under the Domain but i cant seem to do that in 2k8. I've turned Computer Browsing on and can now see staff laptops so can see workgroup machines but no domain ones. Can i still do this, found it helpful to see which machines may be on as at the moment im still fighting my KMS and trying to will the count to go over 20!

 

EDIT: Thinking about it, i cant see the new Win 7 machines in 2k3 either...

Its the network discovery feature that is turned off in both 7 and 2008 by default as a security measure. You can switch it back on in the network and shareing center or from somewhere in GPO.
