Hi guys,

Just upgraded the bursars computer to windows 7. FMS works beautifully except for the email part for BACS remittance emails. When trying to import ready to run a report if she has remittance checked it will fail and wont import. Without it works fine.

Testing the email setup from FMS gives the error "Class not registered" and fails.

It worked previously on XP with no settings difference.

Any help appreciated,

Thanks

I'm sure I had a similar issue last month. There is a solution to this on SupportNet, ( which is still unavailable). From memory, I think it was just a case of reinstalling the FMS infrastructure on the affected computer.

Edit: Have checked our helpdesk and it was resolved by running fmsapplicationsetup.exe, not the infrastructure setup. Supportnet article is kb90958.

Does it work as a different (windows) user? Or is this resolved?

Same issue as any user. Yet to hear back from our LA to see what they have come up with.

Logon as administrator, r-click on cmd and run as administrator, the title of the CMD window should say: "Administrator: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe"

Then type:

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\sims\fmssql\ChilkatMail_v7_9.dll"

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\sims\fmssql\ChilkatCert.dll"

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\sims\fmssql\ChilkatUtil.dll"

See if that helps.

I can confirm that matt40k's solution worked!

We are running Windows XP so had to amend the paths to:

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\sims\fmssql\ChilkatMail_v7_9.dll"

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\sims\fmssql\ChilkatCert.dll"

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\sims\fmssql\ChilkatUtil.dll"

I also needed to re-register:

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\sims\fmssql\PDFREPORT_XP.dll"

The above fixed a problem when the bursar was carrying out a BACS run and and it could not generate the report to email. Was getting an invalid string error and capita had no idea!
