Jamie_a Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I`ve a scsi megaraid raid 5 array which has 2 failed drives. There are some files which i need since the last backup. Is there any utilities I could use through dos to try and recover these files?
Geoff Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Nope, you lose. How did you manage to get two drives to fail simultaneously btw?
plexer Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 More than 1 failed disk in a raid5 array and the whole array is toast. Physical recovery of one of the disks by a data recovery specialist is an option. Ben
greenfieldsupport Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Maybe look at raid reconstructer by get data back... but to be honest from all the theory ive ever been taught, seems like a lost cause Good luck!!!
greenfieldsupport Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 .... just checked, raid reconstructor wont work if more then one drive is dead sorry
Oops_my_bad Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 unlucky! But yes.. I'd be interested to know how you lost 2 drives!!
Midget Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 did someone call? post up some details of how the drives sound etc and I can talk you through some tips to try before the huge cost of sending it off to a company like mine
