nLinked Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Currently I'm using MS PowerPoint 2007 to embed YT videos with these steps. But it's not very smooth. When you reach the slide, you have to manually click play to play the video, not easy when the computer is at the back of the room and you are using a presenter device at the front. Anyone know alternative presentation software where YT videos can be embedded (not downloaded) easily and play automatically when reaching the slide?

hit Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 in the Movie property, add ?autoplay=1 so the URL is such... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrNv6071OsU?autoplay=1
deano Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Can you not upgrade to 2010? Or use keepvid.com and insert video file
nLinked Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 in the Movie property, add ?autoplay=1 so the URL is such... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrNv6071OsU?autoplay=1 This is a great short-term solution. Problem with this is it doesn't resume from the beginning when you go back to the slide containing it. It pauses where it was left. If this can be forced to resume that would be great! Can you not upgrade to 2010? Or use keepvid.com and insert video file We have 2010 in some places and it's easier to embed the video, but it still won't autoplay. Haven't tried the above though with this method. Can't use sites like that due to copyright policy here.

Perhaps a bit of vb to force a reload of the movie on slide load. I will have a look as it could be handy here.
hit Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Had a go at this but haven't got it working, any VBA experts out there see where I'm going wrong? Sub OnSlideShowPageChange(ByVal SSW As SlideShowWindow) For Each s In ActivePresentation.Slides(SSW.View.CurrentShowPosition).Shapes If s.Type = msoOLEControlObject And s.OLEFormat.ProgID Like "ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.*" Then s.OLEFormat.Object.Playing = True s.OLEFormat.Object.Rewind s.OLEFormat.Object.Play End If Next End Sub It may just be that the YouTube AS3 player that gets embeded is a bitch and wont handle rewinds etc. The API documentation is here: https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters
