I've done what i thought was putting the key in but obviously not, as you seem to know what you are talking about how am i supposed to be doing it! Is that my script your talking about? Did you enter a MAK key at any time?

SHimmer45 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 is this for setting up the KMS to it receiving and authing registrations? or just trouble shooting the client. @FN-GM's script is a good place to start as if the SID keys for your machines are the same this would cause a problem as each machine needs to be different for the process to be completed. when you say product key not found was that on the client or the server?

SHimmer45 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 hmmm so the KMS key isnt installed on the server or activated by the server. id go back and check that you have installed and acitvated the key on the KMS server using slmgr. i found a page of notes which i made to help me including some the KMS activation ids which are on the ms technet site if you want me to send them to you?

SYNACK Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Office 2010 and W7 have diferent KMS keys, you need to put the 2008r2 kms b key on a 2008 serve which will activate it and set it as a kms, use slmgr.vbs /dlv to show information. If your using W7 Enterprise it will already look for a KMS server, use slmgr.vbs /ato to activate from an elevated command prompt.

SYNACK Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I'm assuming that output is from the server, have you pointed the clients at it directly to test with slmgr.vbs /skms servername then slmgr.vbs /ato . Do this on a workstation, this should generate an error message at least and hopefully log something on the server log along with something in the client log.
