DFS Folder in Favourites - not expanding in IE8

We have a Favourites folder, setup in the default user profile to contain a DFS folder (we are on CC4) pointing to a network share containing some shared favourites.

 

on our Windows 7 Machines, the folder will not expand when clicked in IE, if you right click it and expand, that also does not work, however, if you explore, the Folder will open correctly, and all shortcuts are visible.

 

Attached is an image of the menu we are trying to get to function correctly, as the folder will expand perfectly with IE8 in XP, just not in 7 (x64)

 

We could use a shortcut to the folder, but that opens an explorer window, instead of dropping down in the IE Favourites menu
