Geoff Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Has anyone played about with Minecraft mods? Particularly in a server environment?
ZeroHour Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Yeh I have been working with Bukkit since it seems to have stabled out a bit. Will get the list I have tried.
localzuk Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Yup, I've got a personal server and regularly have mods on it. RedPower, BuildCraft, IndustrialCraft, MystCraft and a bunch of others. I've not played with bukkit much - never had a multi-user server with more than a handful of people on it.
Geoff Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Cool, I was thinking of running a server myself. I find vanilla MC a bit dull after playing it so much. So the plan is to have a modded server. I think if I go down the craftbukkit route I am limited to using it + it's plugins. Where as if I customise the jar/etc then I get more flexibility as to what I can run but generally minecraft hosting costs more for custom jars. That reminds me, does anyone have hosting recommendations? Either specific Minecraft hosting or just general VPS hosting?

They give you a VPS for your MC host, with full root access.
bondbill2k2 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 What mod do edugeek use which allows teleporting with /sethome /home /back and send player requests?
bondbill2k2 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Great mod the other server I've been playing in is using for minimap and way-points: [1.2.5] [Jun.23] Rei's Minimap v3.2_04 - Minecraft Forum
DMcGuigan Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I used to run a craftbukkit server from home for a few friends. Never had a shortage of mods. We used: World Edit Command book (should handle sethome etc) Towny iConomy iZones Lockette Rei's Minimap (beaten to the mark )
