jlucas Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Hi everyone Our SMT have just started using Discover (after I installed it almost a year ago) and its not working. Looks like our SIMS and Discover databases are on different versions so I need to do a Discover update. All the documentation points to using Solus 3 to do the Discover updates but I can't see any Discover releases in there. Do I have to do something special to tell it to get Discover downloads or have I missed something? Any help would be great! James
vikpaw Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Not sure about solus3, but you can download the latest version from SupportNet and use those files / reinstall if that helps. There's a link to the discover release notes in teh sticky thread for the latest version.
teejay Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 You have to contact Capita Support and they will activate Discover through Solus 3 for you.
Rawns Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 You have to contact Capita Support and they will activate Discover through Solus 3 for you. Of contact your LA if you get support from them. They should have access to SOLUS3 and be able to authorise the upgrade for you.
jlucas Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 Contacted Capita, the updates were released but I needed to go to Update Environment in Solus Agents, select the Discover channel and tell it where our server was. As soon as I'd done that the updates appeared. Have done the upgrade but now cannot open the Config tool as the transfer process is running. According to the knowledge bases this means I have to contact the help desk again. One day I'll get Discover working!
Cache Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Just one to watch - after configuring Discover to update through Solus 3 arround the same time the scheduled tasks vanished from the machine so the automated transfer wasn't happening. Might just have been coincidence but I didn't realise for a little while...
