New site from Kim Dotcom

This has been mentioned on EduGeek before when the Megaupload investigation was (and still is) going on. Dotcom has anounced a new music sharing/sales site called Megabox where artists can sell directly and keep 90% of their profits. It all sounds very interesting. I wonder how may in the music industry this will upset and if it works/takes off how easy would it be to make it 'big' from such a service considering that many bands need airplay and other promotional methods only available via the big lables?

I thoroughly hope it goes tits up. The bloke is morally bankrupt, greedy and deserves no part in any spotlight. And I'd have said that long before he ever dreamed up megaupload.

Ignoring the fact it's dotcom doing it, Doesn't seem much different to just using iTunes (ok, you got slightly more profit, but iTunes much bigger etc). Same style, bypassing producers etc and just selling direct.

 

Still seems it's the "big" name/brands, that broadcast stupid news/pictures/videos/tapes blahblah all over the internet/TV that make the money End of day it's the "My mate has......" that sells, Nothing to do with how good a person actually is at singing sadfully Just look at our charts most weeks, Same old names, same old songs.
