Anyone know of a way to have more than one "quick letter" template available in the Links pane? We use two different letterheads, so want to be able to have one quick letter on each template.

A work around would be that you can personalise by user, so use different users for each type. I know it's a pain, but workable.

The way of achieving this is to create separate reports using the report generator which has virtually all data items available to it. If you are on a pupil a report will print for one child. Reports can be placed in favourites.

That's quite long-winded compared to the one-click of a quick letter. Having "Quick Letter 1" and "Quick Letter 2" options can't be that complicated, surely.

Not with Google Apps, but I could give selected people the Outlook Sync program (I know one of the PAs would thank me for that anyway).

Are you aware each person can have a personalized Quick Letter? Or is that, say, the attendance officer wants a letter A and a letter B?

A bit of both. The two Quick Letters I want are headed paper for our primary and secondary schools. So generally people would only need one, however Marketing would ideally have both, as would one member of our Admin Dept who provides admin support to both schools. That said, having the admin people in each school with the relevant template is a good step forwards though.

It's not actually that bad. If you pre-prepare the reports. Then It's 3 extra clicks away. 1 on Reports, then click favourites, double click on report. If the person made a personal copy of the report, then it would show by default and they wouldn't have to click on favourites. It's a really good workaround for what is probably a minority situation, say just the marketing department. The others can have that option if they need to send a letter on the other school's letter head.

I would go for personalizing the quickletters for one group of people, and leaving the default for the other half. Then make a manual report the admin, along the lines of the personalized one. Or if it's easier for them to use the same process all the time, just make two manual reports. At least you can chuck more fields in there if required.
