We have an Extricom EXSW-2400, works well with our exrp20 AP's

Just bought a load of 22N AP's, the switch won't detect them- gives a code 15- can't dectect AP. No radio signal from AP's at all.

The place we bought them from insists they are compatible with the switch.

Please help!! Is there a setting somewhere to get this switch to work with these AP's? Invested a lot of money in the Extricom because it was supposed to be plug and play!

It's one of 2 things.

1) the firmware needs upgrading on switch

2) the switch dose not support th new 802.11n APs

I hope the issue is 1. Do you have support on the switch? If not you will need to bye some to get firmware download.

Im with MicrodigitUK on this one,

The 22N is a later product but the 2400 Spec doesnt show it being compatible with the 22N AP, but it doesnt say it isnt either!

The latest version of the 2400 Switch IS compatible with your older APs so that would sort of indicate that the hardware could be capable of supporting the AP's therefore as MicrodogitUK suggests the first place to look is Firmware.

Getting the firmware without a support contract however can be a problem.

I would go back to your AP supplier and see if they can help with a firmware update for your 2400 if the interweb is not forthcoming.

Thanks! But I updated the firmware yesterday, latest version, before I installed them.

I cannot get any info from extricom at all, other than their datasheets, which as you say don't give a clear answer as to compatability

Hi,

I'm from Extricom support.

The EXSW-2400 is not compatible with the EXRP-22n AP. You would need a MultiSeries500 or 1000 switch to work with these along with a suitable port licence. You can still purchase the EXRP-20 AP's if you need to add some in a new area or coverage gap. With Software for the EXRP-22n the newer switches are not backward compatible with the EXRP-20 and in any case a mixture of AP families is not supported across any platform.

If you have any issues you can email support - see the web site for address details - and you will always get a response.
