[ris] RIS trouble with Intel DesktopWorkstationServer sata driver - please help!!!!

Hi all, Ive browsed every forum done every possible fix and I get nothing... Here is what ive done.

 

I have an HP Compaq 8200 elite sff pc that uses Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller.(ive used both intel and hp drivers)

 

I created my image with riprep, its running xp sp3.

 

my sif (located at i386\Templates\riprep.sif)

When I have the Mass Storage Drivers and OEM Bootfiles in the sif i get the txtsetup 21 error. When I remove it from the sif i get the "SETUP DID NOT FIND ANY HARD DISK DRIVES"

 

I tried the TXTSETUP.oem as it comes as well as editing in the exact driver under default and disk listed below(can provide FULL if needed):

My folder structure is as follows at the moment:

 

i386

TEXTMODE

 

I have tried putting the textmode folder in

$oem$\textmode

$oem$\$1\textmode

 

NOTHING

 

 

At wits end here, I cannot get this going. Thank you in advance for any help. Please let me know anything I can provide you with.

It has been a while since I have worked with RIS but have you removed the PNF files and restarted the service as per:

How to add Nic drivers to RIS Images

 

That is more specific to NIC drivers though but I wonder if the same issue is happening.

I presume windows xp installs manually when you use a disk and hit the relevant button to load those drivers your slipstreaming?

Thanks for your reply ZeroHour! I do not have any files in my i386, just 2 folder "Mirror & Templates"

 

 

When i install xp sp3 from cd and hit the f6 key and add these drivers the installation does work.

Which OS is the server running 2003 or 2000?

I am trying to remember the joys of RIS

2003 R2 sp2, frustrating thing is we have a ris image for an 8100 (which uses different ahci drivers and works fine)

 

would I have to include the ahci drivers during the riprep process?

Well I don't think its getting that far tbh.

One thing that would possibly get you building for now would be to config the bios for legacy sata/no ahci mode.
