I have an HP Compaq 8200 elite sff pc that uses Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller.(ive used both intel and hp drivers) I created my image with riprep, its running xp sp3. my sif (located at i386\Templates\riprep.sif) [unattended] OemPreinstall = yes OemPnPDriversPath = "\textmode;\\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%\textmode;\i386" FileSystem = LeaveAlone ExtendOEMPartition = 0 TargetPath = \WINDOWS OemSkipEula = yes InstallFilesPath = "\\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%\%MACHINETYPE%" LegacyNIC = 1 [MassStorageDrivers] "Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller" = "OEM" "IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/PCI IDE Controller" = "RETAIL" [OEMBootFiles] iastor.Sys iastor.cat iastor.inf iaahci.INF iaahci.CAT Txtsetup.oem When I have the Mass Storage Drivers and OEM Bootfiles in the sif i get the txtsetup 21 error. When I remove it from the sif i get the "SETUP DID NOT FIND ANY HARD DISK DRIVES" I tried the TXTSETUP.oem as it comes as well as editing in the exact driver under default and disk listed below(can provide FULL if needed): [Disks] disk1 = "Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller", iaStor.sys, \ [Defaults] scsi = iaAHCI_DesktopWorkstationServer ;############################################################################# [scsi] ; iaAHCI.inf iaAHCI_ESB2 = "Intel® ESB2 SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_7RDH = "Intel® ICH7R/DH SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_7MMDH = "Intel® ICH7M/MDH SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_8RDHDO = "Intel® ICH8R/DH/DO SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_8MEM = "Intel® ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_9RDODH = "Intel® ICH9R/DO/DH SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_9MEM = "Intel® ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_10DDO = "Intel® ICH10D/DO SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_10R = "Intel® ICH10R SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_5 = "Intel® 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_5_1 = "Intel® 5 Series 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_5_1_1 = "Intel® 5 Series/3400 Series SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_DesktopWorkstationServer = "Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller" iaAHCI_Mobile = "Intel® Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller" ; iaStor.inf iaStor_ESB2 = "Intel® ESB2 SATA RAID Controller" iaStor_7RDH = "Intel® ICH7R/DH SATA RAID Controller" iaStor_7MDH = "Intel® ICH7MDH SATA RAID Controller" iaStor_DesktopWorkstationServer = "Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller" iaStor_Mobile = "Intel® Mobile Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller" ;############################################################################# My folder structure is as follows at the moment: i386 TEXTMODE I have tried putting the textmode folder in $oem$\textmode $oem$\$1\textmode NOTHING At wits end here, I cannot get this going. Thank you in advance for any help. Please let me know anything I can provide you with. Edited May 31, 2012 by iamoris
ZeroHour Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 It has been a while since I have worked with RIS but have you removed the PNF files and restarted the service as per: How to add Nic drivers to RIS Images That is more specific to NIC drivers though but I wonder if the same issue is happening. I presume windows xp installs manually when you use a disk and hit the relevant button to load those drivers your slipstreaming?
iamoris Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks for your reply ZeroHour! I do not have any files in my i386, just 2 folder "Mirror & Templates" When i install xp sp3 from cd and hit the f6 key and add these drivers the installation does work.
ZeroHour Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Which OS is the server running 2003 or 2000? I am trying to remember the joys of RIS
iamoris Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 2003 R2 sp2, frustrating thing is we have a ris image for an 8100 (which uses different ahci drivers and works fine) would I have to include the ahci drivers during the riprep process?
ZeroHour Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Well I don't think its getting that far tbh. One thing that would possibly get you building for now would be to config the bios for legacy sata/no ahci mode.
