Hi

Is there any way to get rid of offline files easily? In windows XP you could literally 'delete offline files' and it would clear everything out for good. Doesnt seem to work in Windows 7.

Any ideas?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Csc\Parameters

(Think that's right one)

RegDWORD: FormatDatabase (Set to 1)

On reboot will clear "whole" offline cache, not just 1 user etc though. But it's what we normally do.

Thanks, will give that a go. Generally in XP we have been able to simply access the CSC folder via safe mode and manually delete everything. Currently struggling to even access this folder at the moment, even as an administrator, lots of proverbial head scratching going on.

The method posted above by Steve is what I've been doing for ages here, it works and just clears the whole offline files for the machine, not just the one user.

Just as an FYI the key you create removes itself on reboot so no need to go back and remove it yourself.
