sippo Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I have an XP pc that loses sync with the server to get it's time. Would this be the CMOS battery? Once restarted the PC picks up the correct time, but obviously the member of staff doesn't want to restart on a regular basis!

elsiegee40 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 The CMOS battery problem usually shows itself when you boot up after the machine being disconnected from the mains... it doesn't happen if the machine has mains power to it.

sippo Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 That's a short term fix. Do you think it could be a dodgy network switch port? Going to try a different one anyway. No one else has issues on that switch. The same PC had profile issues where the profile wasn't being pushed down correctly. I have changed the PC. gave it a good image. There's definitely a network issue somewhere I'm thinking.
