Symbolic Links?

So i am having issues with the licensing of a piece of software. It works great with the local accounts, but once we add the machine to the domain and a domain user logs in the licensing disappears.

 

I spoke with the tech support people from the software company, and they said I could create a symbolic link. Has anyone used this? The license file exists in the C:\AppData\Help Desk\Roaming\SAWTooth, SSI folder. Is there a way to then point c:\AppData\DOMAINUSERNAME\Roaming\SAWTOOTH SSI to the local profiles folder?

 

I though about including a script to copy the folder over on boot up, but that seems like a bit too much no?

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've used symlinks in Linux but never heard of them for windows. However a quick search turned this up.
