Unable to install Google Chrome/Dropbox

Hi,

 

I have been experiencing a really frustrating issue where I can access the internet through IE, however unable to install Google Chrome, Dropbox and access the net via Firefox. There seems to be a connection to the internet issue when trying to download Chrome and Dropbox. I am working on a standalone Dell Vostro 320 which uses the school wireless to access the net. The computer is not on a domain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
