enjay Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Spiceworks can't see our LevelOne switches (GSW-2472 and GSW-2494); has anyone found a way to get these to report correctly? They get picked up as network devices in the inventory, however don't appear on the map.
Badzeye Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Is spiceworks authenticating to the switches correctly? If it cannot authenticate to a device it will not give you any details about it.
enjay Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 Think so. There aren't any scan errors and the manufacturer, etc. has been identified; SNMP looks to be enabled okay, although it isn't the most high-tech of management interfaces on this particular switch. Odd that it doesn't even show up on the map, even though the backbone switch knows which port it is connected to.
Badzeye Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Sorry I cannot help you much further then. Our switches are managed by our local authority and we dont have access to them so spiceworks cannot do anything with the switches. Although ours do map correctly. Im sorry i cant help any more.
enjay Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 Okay, since found that the 2472 isn't SNMP-capable; the 2494 is, and that appears on the map but doesn't list the right devices attached to it. The really helpful guys are Spiceworks are on the case for me...
enjay Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 The really helpful guys are Spiceworks Conscious that could be taken sarcastically (especially coming from me!), but I actually meant it, they've been great. Just wanted to clear that up!
