Slow uploads for Silverlight / ASP but not HTML

Title says it all really, we are having an issue where users suffer terrible speeds when uploading unless they use the HTML uploader option. The new My Files option works fine aswell so I'm thinking a setting is wrong on the server somewhere but thought I'd throw it out to the educated geeks before trawling IIS. We have a proxy but it doesn't affect the speed whether it's set or bypassed, downloads are so far unaffected. Anyone seen anything like this before ?

The silverlight uploader is now not supported as it has been dropped in favour of the HTML5 uploader. It's recommended to redirect your clients to /myfiles/ instead

I noticed the My Files update ( I'm a big fan of HTML 5 ) and have pointed the users in its' direction already.

Not in the basic version, you can change the links to point to /myfiles/ instead of /mycomputer.aspx
