Having a strange problem here, wondered if anyone had any wonderful ideas?

We have a number of XP workstations that have network printers deployed to them via GPO. If I try to print a document in word, it works perfectly. However, when I come to print a document from Acrobat Reader, nothing prints. There's nothing in the print queue either - it's as if the job is never being sent. Has anyone else encountered this?

Protected document? A couple of depts in our LA sends everything out as a protected PDF documents to curb printing. Would have thought you would get a warning though.

We had a peculiar problem with two stations on our network and PDF documents. Printing the PDF document would produce a single page [fully covered with toner so that the whole page appeared black] This affected only four stations, in the same OU, and a single printer.

The problem was eventually solved when we moved away from XP and on to Windows 7 [station rebuilds, updating the print driver and moving the stations to a new OU all had no effect] It wasn't the PDFs being printed or the users as when they went to the Staff Room to print it worked fine [same PDFs, same model of printer, same driver] No other users/computers on the network were affected. Also no other applications were affected: Office, Internet Explorer, Notepad would all print without issue.

We still don't know what caused it but we are glad to be rid of it.
