Hi everyone

I was just wondering is it possible to access my SharePoint site from outside of work. SharePoint is installed on a server 2011 and machine and everything is working remote access works fine and I can access the internal website that way but was thinking more of being able to access it using say the SharePoint App for android or apple from outside of the business. Does anyone know if this is possible? I was trying it last night and it didnt work because it couldnt find the server which i understand because its an internal site

If I understand what you want correctly then you just need to put the Sharepoint server in a DMZ and port forward it. We host our own external services here so our DMZ is already set up, depending what firewall you use just google around for DMZ instructions and put your server into the DMZ and make sure the correct ports are passed on to it and you should be golden. You would also need to setup external DNS entries so you'd probably need to talk to your ISP and get a subdomain routed to you. we use https://school.ourschool.sch.uk and although I haven't tried to use an app we know it works externally as a sharepoint sitel
