tony_baduk Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I've installed HAP version v7.10.0311.1730 running on Windows 2003 as a member server and IIS 6. The problem is whenever I attempt to goto the https:///hap/api/setup/help - error 404. And https:///hap/default.aspx - Server Error in '/' Application The HAP login page does appear sometimes but it rejects any username and password. I have yet to configure the web.config file. I have check the wildcard application maps and also given the correct permissions to the HAP folder. Any help would be much appreciated.
tony_baduk Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 Okay, just an update. I can now access the setup page again, I removed the hapconfig.xml file and the setup is now showing red crosses for: - IIS6 Wildcard Mapping - Services Activated - App_Data Write Accss I have done the wildcard mapping, the services are activated and the permissions on the app_data are also set. Anyone shed some light on this. Thanks.
nickbro Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Try using a different PC to access the site, or if you are, try using the browser on the server. Also browse to /api/test/ (should be OK) And /api/setup/help and report what comes up (should be a list of API calls)

I'm not at the school until next Monday so I will let you know how I get on. I did try /api/setup/help earlier and it took me back to the setup page showing the red crosses. I also tried another PC with the same screen appearing. Any other suggestions I can try next week?
nickbro Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Sounds like there may be a permissions issue there, make sure you start off with FORMS authentication, get it working, then switch to Windows Authentication (if you are wanting to use that)
tony_baduk Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 I've left it to login anonymously as per the manual and unticked windows authentication. thanks for your help Nick.
tony_baduk Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 I couldn't find an option for FORMS authentication, it seems to be missing from IIS6 unless a sepearate download is required. I have also tried the above test commands: /api/test/ - ok - see attachment /api/setup/help - list of api calls - see attachment but still i'm getting red crosses on all services. how is the general level of compatibility for HAP+ with IIS6? i feel i've tried everything and read the documentation but still having issues. is there not a an iis6 video for version 7 to talk through step by step? unfortunately i can't get iis7.
nickbro Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 What browser are you using? Sounds like either javascript or AJAX isn't working properly, can you try some http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/86059-hap-json-debugging.html

I can try the debugging and get back to you in a few days when I'm back at the school.
tony_baduk Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Hmmm.. everything seems to be working finally, and I'm impressed. The solution seemed to be disabling the comapibility view in IE8 and voila all the ticks appeared green! So that's one school setup, now to the next school! ;-)
spluckrose Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Hi we have been having the exact same problems as above disabling the compatability view in IE8 gives us green ticks all the way, as does firefox, but when click on my school files it loads up the my school computer -extended version i get the box but no files. I bet i have missed something simple just cant see what Thanks
nickbro Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Switch to using the My Files v8 instead. The Extended Version has been superseded and support has finished
tony_baduk Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Nick are the v8 my files available on the HAP website?
nickbro Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 The v7 releases contain the preview for the v8 my files (/myfiles/)
