Hi guys,

Bit of a newbie to the world of ms exchange. I am trying to find a way to set up a calendar that is automatically shared with all users. So when they log in the group calendar is there they don't have to accept a link in an email. And then either this happens automatically for newly created accounts or I can run a script to do it.

Anyone know where there is an idiots guide or video to help me with this?

Many thanks

The closest you can get to this natively is the automap feature. Create a shared mailbox, explicitly give users full mailbox access, I assume you;re using OLK 2010 or OLK 2007 SP2, when they login they get access to the mailbox. HOWEVER it;s everything and not just the calendar.

You could us a PF calendar?

Centralised calanders have really moved out of Exchange and into Sharepoint, if you install the free version and create a calander in that it can be added to Outlook and OWA I think but I don't know about scripting it.

They haven't moved anywhere for me.. I use a public folder (PF) where possible, but only yesterday made yet another Live@Edu calendar mailbox plus some reviewer, author & editor groups with respective accesss to it's calendar and told people how to open it. Not automatic, but grown ups generally can cope.

I should have said moving, 2010 has the option to install without public folders and most of the guidence points towards sharepoint calanders.

Hi

Can the free edition of sharepoint be used to create a room booking system as well? I saw some schools use sharepoint and it would be quite good to integrate room bookings, calendars and email all in the one setup.

Thanks

Is sharepoint foundation 2010 the free edition?
