Wow! Is it wrong that I'm really excited about that! Brand new, dissassembled Spitfires in boxes - I wonder what condition they are in - surely having been buried in original factory packaging they must have been reasonably protected from the more serious ravages of time?

Not at all. I know one 91 year old man who was particularly excited by this news, having himself been a spitfire pilot in the region at that time - my friends' father.

Fantastic story really great, I've been following this since, the kind of thing that couldn't be written better. My grandad built Spitfires (well, parts for them) during WW the second, I wonder if these get found they have his parts in?!

I never understood why they went all the way to Burma, when there are Spitfires buried in Birmingham. If not complete aeroplanes, then perhaps enough spare parts were buried to build one.
