Disk Quotas...

Hi All

 

In previous version of OS X Server you had to enable disk quotas on a volume, using Server Admin, before users quotas were enforced.

 

I've enabled disk quotas of the users within WGM but I can't for the life of me find the setting to enable the quotas on a volume?

I've noticed that the limits set in WGM aren't being enforced so there must be a setting I've missed somewhere....

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction??

I know in 10.6 server if you go into Server admin, then file sharing, pick a volume, and then on the quotas tab towards the bottom half of the window. Never set quotas up mind you, so not sure if this is what you're after and of course this will be fairly useless if you're using 10.7 server!

Unfortunately one of Apple's improvements in Lion was to remove the File Sharing from server Admin... It doesn't help that WGM still says go to Server Admin to enable quotas!!

Ah, I can't help you out too much then unfortunately! Can't seem to find anything regarding quotas in Lion online either. That is ridiculous though, why remove something like that?!

not tried this is lion so a guess but try this from terminal

 

sudo quotaon /.

 

if it doesn't quite work try reading up on the quotaon command by running man quotaon from terminal.

they are there look in applications server.app unless 10.7.1 server removed the option???

I couldn't see it at all... ended up using quotaon to kick start quotas... Shame on Apple for removing it..
