APC UPS PowerChute - Multiple UPS devices plugged in via USB can only administer one

We have a number of APC Smart-UPS 1500 devices but we have a multititude of servers split between them.

I have today installed PowerChute business edition in the hope to get some monitoring sorted out. I have connected all the UPS devices to one server via USB so I can monitor them and get notifications.

We have a number of ESXi Hosts so if possible would like to have them shutdown after a predetermined time of power failure.

Has anyone managed to get more than one UPS registering via USB on same host?

No managment cards I'm guessing?

Apcupsd UPS control software | Free Security & Utilities software downloads at SourceForge.net might work but I'd rather use serial over USB as USB can be unstable and I have dealt with issues where a USB drop of the UPS monitering knocks out a server even though there is no issue.

Quite interesting about the communication bit, the servers keep losing communication with UPS. No management cards :-? I will check on Monday to see if they have Serial ports as I might be able to port a multiple serial port card in, not sure if can find serial cables. Find it a bit of a limitation that can't plug more than one UPS via USB but then again guess only one is needed for PSU redundancy.
