dave.81 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 We are having an issue where some but not all staff are not getting their proxy settings via GPO. The rest of the GPO is being deployed fine but just the proxy settings are not being picked up. Anyone else come across this?
themightymrp Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Do you have any other group policies higher up the structure with a No Override set? Such as somewhere in the default domain policy?
dave.81 Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 Default domain policy has the user settings disabled so i wouldn't have thought there is anything in there, i'll double check.
piyushagrawal Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Hi, Make proxy setting per-machine (rather than per-user) and if it does not work then check out the KB's: Internet Explorer Maintenance Group Policies do not apply during subsequent logons procedures Microsoft Support/kb/306915 After you enable the Folder Redirection policy in Windows XP Service Pack 2, the Internet Explorer Maintenance policy may not apply Microsoft Support/kb/888254 If the issue persists, please make sure that you have installed the latest service pack on the affected computer. How to obtain the latest Windows Vista service pack Microsoft Support/kb/935791 How to obtain the latest Windows XP service pack Microsoft Support/kb/322389 Hope it helps you. Do update us again.
dave.81 Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 I appear to have resolved the issue, i had a seperate computer policy that i was forgetting to check which had "restrict changing of proxy" set. I've removed that and all users now appear to be working. Still odd how it was only effecting some users but fixed now. Thanks for the pointers!
