Trapper Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Does anyone know of any iPad video conferencing app that supports a proxy? Here Facetime is blocked and all the major apps do not support proxys. It's irritating to say the least.
Sylv3r Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 We've used Skype via an iPAD to speak to schools in france. The ipad may have been setup with a static IP and exceptions added to the IP assigned via our Smoothwall box however, although I don't think we did these changes but have since done them for other apps so can't really remember.
m25man Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Check out clearsea.com, it works well and does point to point and Multipoint. Overcomes many of the H323 - NAT issues and keeps our globe trotting F1 team owner in touch with our Polycom and the Tandberg in Malaysia at the samemtime, from where ever he is. Its all down to your proxy I'm afraid VC behind NAT is and always will be a pig, which is why most of our VC systems have non NAT routed connections and a dedicated public IP. Clearsea is by Logitech Lifesize and I also noticed that Polycom also now have a similar service all available from the App Store.
Trapper Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 Yeah I've found the Polycom system this afternoon which works well internally. Another reason why iPads aren't business friendly
FN-GM Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 We will be using iPads with MS Lync. If you have this you should look at that option. PS: you have posted in the wrong forum, iPads and macs are not the same thing
