atfnet Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I have recently installed media player 11, and I want to play videos that require AC3 codec, dose anyone have a deployable codec installer for this or any other codec’s?
Oops_my_bad Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Have a look for "storm codec" - you might be able to do a silent install/msi wrapper but seems to include all the codecs for playing just about anyhting through windows media player
Geoff Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Also remember that depending on the codecs you distribute you may owe royalties. This is definitely the case for MPEG based codecs for example http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/licensing/mpeg4faq.aspx#MPEG4VideoFAQ_LicenseFees
roland Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Hello, I pushed out Vista Codec Package 4.4.x as an MSI file, but be warned it knocked Quicktime over, which I am still in the process of fixing. Un installing quicktime resolves the problem and allows the quicktime dependant programs to run. anyway the short and long of it is that I too am looking for a reliable way to push codecs for WMP using AD, so if you have andy ideas I would to know which way to go with this codecs. tx Roly
